Cancer & Other Illnesses

Yoga Therapy is helpful while enduring or recovering from cancer and other chronic illnesses. Consistent application of yoga therapy tools can lead to reduced stress, side effects and inflammation plus an increase in range of motion and immune function. This mind, body, soul approach also helps with processing emotions, anxiety, grief and trauma from medical stress.

LOV Yoga serves young adult cancer patients and survivors. If financial resources are strained and you would like to pursue yoga therapy services, check out our “Feel the LOV Fund” scholarship application. LOV Yoga also hosts a monthly cancer support group on the first Wednesday of each month.
 

Trauma

Trauma is defined as experiences that are physically and/or emotionally devastating, stressful and painful which creates a sense of overwhelm. P.T.S.D. occurs after a traumatic event or ongoing stress occurs, which shocks the nervous system significantly. It is normal to feel dysregulation or disassociation, both states of imbalance that have physical, emotional and behavioral symptoms. Yoga Therapy can help create a sense of connection and balance while processing trauma and grief.

Grief

While grieving, it is important to tell your story and be heard, to feel emotions, breathe, move, plus learn how grow through what you’re going through. Yoga Therapy can help with processing these complex states of being physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually while teaching how to cope through tools of breath-work, meditation, mindful movement and self reflection. Together we will learn to live and love life as it is NOW, after loss.

inFertility & Prenatal

Trying to conceive is a special time in life that involves getting in touch with yourself and the divine feminine wisdom that is already inherently present. Yoga Therapy can guide you through the stressful fertility process.

Once pregnant it’s normal to feel a variety of new symptoms. Breathing, moving and stretching in safe, therapeutic ways tailored to each trimester is beneficial throughout your pregnancy. Meditation, visualization and affirmations can also spark connection with your baby-to-be.

Anxiety & Depression

Mood disorders such as anxiety and depression can feel completely consuming, making it difficult to engage in life fully. Different forms of breath-work, meditation, mindful movement, affirmations, and reflecting through limiting beliefs can provide natural, alternative ways of treating anxiety and depression that help the body and mind at the same time.
